Devices under Liberty Smart Protect are covered in case of the following:

  • Accidental Damage (drops, liquid damage, cracks)
  • Mechanical Breakdown (defects in workmanship, labor, or normal wear and tear)
  • Power Surges

If your devices can’t be repaired, we will reimburse you for the current value of the claimed device.

Liberty Smart Protect provides coverage for household electronic devices such as:

  • Tablets
  • Laptops
  • Desktop Computers
  • Televisions
  • Gaming consoles
  • DVDs
  • Blu-Rays
  • E-readers
  • Streaming Media Players
  • Wireless Audio
  • Voice Assistants

Note: All devices must have been purchased no more than five (5) years from date of product registration within the Liberty Smart Protect Program.

You may cancel your Liberty Smart Protect plan at any time for any reason by giving us a call at 1-866-281-3298  Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm. 

Having all of the information related to your household electronics available in just a few clicks has a number of benefits.

Registering your devices makes the claims simpler, easier, and a lot faster. By having all the information related to your devices in one place, we are better equipped to provide you with quality customer service and quicker reimbursements.

In addition, registering your devices through our online portal provides a convenient and safe place to keep track of all your electronic devices, as well as any related documents, such as receipts and images.

Registering your devices is easy.

  1. Log in to the customer portal at mi.Libertypr.com.
  2. Once in miLiberty, click on the Liberty Smart Protect button to access your device protection account.
  3. On the Device Dashboard, click Add/Replace next to a blank field or the item you wish to register.
  4. Enter the following information.
    • Purchase Date
    • Purchase Price
    • Device Category
    • Device Brand
    • Device Model
    • Serial Number
    • Item Information (Nickname, receipt, proof of purchase, or image of your device)
  5. Click Save!
  6. Your device is now registered.

To remove a device from your coverage visit the device detail page and click on the “Remove” button.

When you remove a device from your coverage you are canceling the protection for that particular device and it will no longer be eligible for a claim.

Replacing a registered device is just as simple as adding one to your account.

  1. Log in to the customer portal at mi.Libertypr.com.
  2. Once in miLiberty, click on the Smart Protect button to access your device protection account.
  3. On the Device Dashboard, click Add/Replace next to the item you wish to replace.
  4. Enter the following information.
    • Purchase Date
    • Purchase Price
    • Device Category
    • Device Brand
    • Device Model
    • Serial Number
    • Item Information (Nickname, receipt, proof of purchase, or image of your device)
  5. Select the device you wish to replace.
  6. Click Save!
  7. Your replacement device is listed under your registered devices and your old device has now been removed.

Note: You may only replace a registered device if your account is already at the maximum number of registered devices.

If your coverage protects 3 devices, a maximum of 2 claims for any one device may be made in a 12-month period, with a maximum of 3 claims total for all devices in a 12-month period.
If your coverage protects 5 devices, a maximum of 2 claims for any one device may be made in a 12-month period, with a maximum of 4 claims total for all devices in a 12-month period.

There is a deductible due at the time of claim approval and can be paid by Credit or Debit Card.

The amount of the deductible will depend on the value of your device at the time of claim:

$40 Deductible

  • Tablets, DVDs and Blu-Rays valued up to $300
  • Computers valued up to $600
  • TVs valued up to $1000
  • All other devices valued up to $200

$99 Deductible

  • Tablets, DVDs and Blu-Rays valued greater than $300
  • Computers valued greater than $600
  • TVs valued greater than $1,000
  • All other covered devices valued greater than $200

To file a claim, give us a call at  1-833-259-1199 Monday - Friday 9:00am - 9:00pm and Sundays 11:00am - 7:00pm. A customer service representative will be more than happy to help you file your claim and process your deductible payment. Have your account number, device information, deductible payment method, and any other information related to your claim ready.

Depending on the device type and the scope of the repairs, your device may be repaired using one of the following methods:

  • In-home service

    A home repair will be scheduled with a certified technician at your residence. An adult of legal age must be present and the technician must be able to easily access the device to perform repairs.

  • Depot service

    Your item will be shipped to a service center for repairs. We will provide you with a pre-paid mailing label or box to ship the device to our service center at no cost to you.

  • Carry-in service

    Repairs will be performed at an authorized service / repair provider. You will be responsible for transporting your device to and from the service provider, and are responsible for any and all transportation costs.

Should we choose to replace your device, we will issue a reimbursement in the form of check for the current value of the item. We may ask that you return the device being replaced before we issue a reimbursement.

You can log into the customer portal by visiting mi.Libertypr.com. Once in mi.Liberty, click on the Smart Protect button to access your device protection account.

If you have moved or your account number was changed recently, your account may have been placed in cancellation status. Please update your mi.Libertypr.com account with your new account number.

Liberty Smart Protect is offered to Liberty customers through Assurant. Smart Protect plans are administered by Assurant Services of Puerto Rico, Inc. (ASPRI) part of Assurant companies.
